Description
In this 2 day workshop, Quay will guide you through his process in how he sets up the clay and throws a variety of forms in a way that can later be faceted and altered.
Day 1 (5pm - 9.30pm, 5.30pm start throwing, small break mid way)
Quay will demonstrate and give tips throughout the day on throwing his mug, jar and bellied form which you will then make. Each task will be demonstrated initially with ample time for you to make yourself, with Quay at hand to provide tips or 1 to 1 help with throwing. Forms made can be adjusted based on experience level, with larger and more complicated shapes being shown depending on proficiency.
Day 2 (6pm - 9pm)
Forms made the day before are then altered or faceted with Quay’s guidance and experience. If time allows, we will also pull handles for the mug forms and assemble lids for the jars.
